About the event
Another highly requested Montessori seminar is coming your way!
Â
Join Skye Dodson for her seminars on Positive Discipline for Toddlers and Respectful Caregiving for Infants.Â
Â
Positive Discipline, the Montessori Way, 9 am - 12 pm
This seminar will give parents and teachers the skills they need to practice positive discipline in the Montessori toddler community. Â Positive Discipline provides parents and teachers the tools they need to set limits and boundaries in ways that teach children pro-social behavior. Â Challenging behaviors are learning opportunities for children, and this seminar will give you concrete steps to redirect problematic behaviors.Â
Â
Respectful Caregiving for Montessorians, 1:30 pm - 4:30pm
Using Montessori, Pikler, and RIE principles, participants will explore the different developmental areas of infants and the curriculum of caregiving. Both theoretica (language, cognition, movement, autonomy, and sense of self)l and practical demonstrations (feeding, diapering, toilet learning, bottle feeding, purees, finger foods, weaning table, utensils, dressing, etc.) will be comprehensively covered.Â
Â
Both sessions will take in context the Montessori approach. Anything added to the Montessori practice has to be rooted in the same philosophy. By the end of the sessions, participants will have a good understanding of how positive discipline and respectful caregiving fits into and compares to the Montessori practice.Â
